well, i might as well never have another birthday again because i've already received the two best presents ever from the best boyfriend ever.

first, a picture of my two favorite superheroes, guy smith and edie sawyer (a.k.a. mr. sensitive and u-go girl from the x-force/x-statix comics) drawn by the superbly talented and extremely generous joel priddy, who's work never ceases to amaze me:

second, as if that weren't already more than enough, i have been immortalized in superhero-form by ANOTHER incredible talent, dean trippe: in my book, an honor in it's highest form.
this is based on our character bizarra, the anti-(current)supergirl: dark-haired, sporty, tough...and most importantly, not flashing her undies all over metropolis (her first appearance was at the infamous guitar(super)hero party) :

i cannot thank these guys enough for contributing their time and ability to what are possibly the two most thoughtful and original gifts i've ever received. and chris, of course, for the thoughtfulness and originality.

well, happy birthday to me i guess.
it'd be fine if i didn't have another one for about five or ten years. twenty-three is plenty, thank you.

for those here and wondering, i did not draw that picture of the wasp down there. i did, however, color it. i think it was the first thing i colored on the tablet, and obviously before i knew what the wasp's costume actually looked like. once chris reminds me who the artist is i'll link to his website. i really like his art, especially the way he draws women.

i taught myself how to knit yesterday and i'm already about a third of the way through a mustard-yellow scarf. since it's my first (and therefore pretty rough around the edges) i'll probably just give it away. if you want it, let me know :)
